“As long as you are a good person, you’re alright with me.” - Elaine
—
Community activist Elaine Castellanos recruited our organization to create a documentary titled “The Black Catholic Experience” in 2016. Through the guidance from Elaine and others associated with her project, the Unapologetic series was born. 2020 generated Unapologetically Noir and 2021 produced three new experiences.
Although there are numerous divides across the country, this exhibit aims to celebrate our culture and continue to instill a sense of pride throughout the community. The Unapologetic Series aims to demonstrate how the medium of photography can be an essential cultural tool in spreading information across our everchanging landscape.
